I'm looking into possibly purchasing a straight truck with 24ft trailer. Anybody familiar with the straight truck business? What are some pro's and con's. Is the money good?

If you can find a niche before you get the truck
you can make the money. But generally IMO
class B drivers tend to make less than class A
just because its harder to get your class A.
I started out with a B so thats just my educated
guess. -
Freight for a straight truck is almost impossible to come by these days. If you have " JIT " service contracts in place with customers that will gurantee you "x" amount of business per month or week then you can make good money at it. Just talk to any expediter out there on the road trying to make it there are way too many of them and not enough freight. A big problem is you can put straight truck frieght on a semi but u cant put semi frieght on a straight truck. Very limited what you can haul. I drove straight trucks for 4 yrs before getting my class A, it's a whole different world. Make sure you do your research but i always tell everyone if you research it and still think you can succeed there is only one way to find out. Good Luck.
