Clean the radiator out. Put in a separate air cooler for the tranny.
If you run a chip, turn it off on grades. If you run a chip, get the full set of gauges. Tranny temp, boost, and pyrometer.
My opinion of a chip is just a waste of money and increase the chance of destroying an engine.
I had 262,000 on my 2002 F350. Had the superchip. They said it will never hurt the motor on the lowest setting. Did not get the gauges. Fried the motor.
Second motor, put the gauges on and quickly removed the chip into retirement.
My dodge will never see a chip. It has 469,000 on it.
Entering Canada is easy if the record is clean, paperwork is in order. Call the broker in advance. Depends also who you are leased to. My company has two of the best paperwork preparers. I no longer verify the paperwork.
Do you run an additional tank?
Mine is the 115 gallon aux tank with inline pump system to pump while going down the road.
I just reviewed and saw the truck you have. Setup a maintenance fund of 10% of the load. It comes in handy. You might want to avoid a chip in the 6.0 truck. They are bad enough.

Thank you for the advice RM.. I'm hoping to just make the truck last long enough to get my credit good enough to upgrade and trade it in. Had to take what I could get after filing my bankruptcy and starting over. I guess the main thing I wanted from the chip was the ability to do better with fuel economy. I do not have my aux tank yet, it's on the list of things I'm looking to get soon in addition to the 5th wheel hitch so I can quit bumper pulling as I hear the 5'ers are easier. I have my CDL, but can't hire on to a company due to a speeding ticket from Feb of this year.. Thanks again for the advice and suggestions!!

When empty control the speed to around 65 to 67.
Speed goes out the exhaust.

Slowing down to those speeds is do-able, I always tend to try to keep movin a bit quicker so I can turnaround and get where I need to be next. I guess there's the trade off, time is fuel is time..
I'm pulling for Indiana Transport, I guess they are some of the new kids in town there in Elkhart, but I've really no issue with them so far. I don't care for the Scam Data program, but I guess take my lumps as they come. Started at $1.20 a loaded and have went down to $1.11 as of now, however there's different pay for the different types. Without a 5th hitch I'm only bumper pulling, and I haven't hit Canada yet.. I think .20 cents added to the Canada runs. My best week I logged about 5k loaded but that wore me a bit. I prefer to stay at the 1500-2000 loaded a week and still have 2-3 days a week at home. -

I have been checking the rv transport companies out here northern Indiana they prefer that you have a cdl, but they say to check with the state you live in to see what they require. I checked with the license branch where i live here in Indiana and they said I did not need a cdl.
If I have to get a cdl what would have take the drivers test with a semi-tractor since that is what the covers or a pickup because that what I would using? Your help will be greatly appreciated. -
