I was wondering what kind of fines for driving over the designated 11 hours also what can happen besides the fines? Also I did not notice numbered log books messed up a couple of pages and tore them out is this legal are do you just leave them in? I have a stapled log book. Started driving a week ago for hot shot company. Driving a 26 foot GMC 6500 flatbed.

buy you self some loose leaf from a truck stop and get a binder. cheeper then a ticket for sure and much easier to only have the past 7 days and current day so 8 days total on you if you ever get checked.
the 10 $ for the binder and the 31 pages is well worth it . as far as driving after 11-14 hour rules if someone hits you your at fault even if u where sitting at a red light. driving over your hours or after the 14'th hour your on the hook. as said above get a loose leaf and try not to drive over your 11 and after 14 if you can help it if you have to tho the loose leaf will help you for minor issues if they happen but if someone gets hurt your in big big ##### as they can pull the ecm info from the trucks computer. -
Tickets can run from 100.00 to around 3,000 depending on the location.

I've had my logbooks checked at many stations and every one of them have tore out pages...Even handed one guy 2 books as one only had 7 or 8 days in it as I didn't have a new one in my truck and converted a training logbook...I haven't been asked about missing pages....Yet...I tear them out to avoid having pages with white out on them when I mess up since I always seem to add something when I'm at the most tired point in my day(mornings and nights)...I think the white out would draw more scrutiny and I like them neat as can be...

First, drive legal.
Second, with stapled logbooks; Mistakes happen. Since I wanted my logbook to look good, I would remove the staples from the logbook, replace the messed-up log page with the cleaner and neater log page, and reset the staples into the logbook. Saved me the expense of buying my own logbooks, since this way I could run exclusively on the company-provided logbooks.
Finally, drive legal... -
Where did you get the ticket at?
Did you get an inspection? -
Here is a question can you have two log books showing the sam HOS? Have one that you make during the day and making mistakes and then when your done making mistake rewrite in to the other book? or is that still consider running with two log books?
