Just as the title implies, I'm wondering what time all of the local, home daily drivers generally start their work day. I was offered a new position within the company I drive for which would switch me over from a 1:30PM start to a midnight to 3:00AM start time. I'm still trying to figure out if it will be a good switch for me, as I'm not sure I'll be able to fall asleep in the late afternoon like the position would require for proper rest. In the past, most of my local endeavors have had a more reasonable start time between 4:00 and 6:00AM.

midnite starts are hard to adjust to. I would avoid a shift like that unless it really paid well or if there was a chance to get to days there sometime soon.

I start my day anywhere between 4am and 5pm... depends on what loads need to go where.

I use to run a local gig that started at midnight and loved it. Would avoid most of the traffic cause it had me in and out of Phoenix between 2-3 am and home around noon so I had all the time I needed to do other things. Not to mention I avoided working in the hottest part of the day in southern Az.

Wow...that's a hell of time span! I guess you need to be one of those people that can sleep anytime, anywhere to run like that.

For the most part I start between 4-10am. But some of the job sites run 24 hours and some loads need to be taken at night. I know the day before what I'm doing if that happens so I just stay up until 4-8am and sleep during the day to go to work at 5pm or whatever time I need to.

I'm a night owl... I can stay up most of the night (not driving) if needed and sleep all day. I hate waking up mornings, but I prefer to work mornings because I have the rest of the day to get things done around the house or do errands.

I have a sleeper truck now (was in a daycab) so I can comfortably sleep if I have to wait at a job site lol.

Our drivers are consistently between 4 and 7 am, with the exceptional 12am-3am for the out of town pickups/deliveries.

When i pulled groceries for a local company it was usually 1 to 3am start times. It took me forever getting used to sleeping in the afternoons.

The job i have now i like getting rolling at 4 to 5 am and run until late in the evening.
