I decided to post a recording of my dash cam and see what everybody thinks. Watch the pickup truck to my left at about a minute into the recording. This happened Friday afternoon on I-15 just before you get to the top of the hill to the 395 exit in Hesperia. The CHP officer that came out was a great guy and used to drive a truck before he joint the CHP. I hope he will write his report as he told me. He also wants a recording to pass on to the DA, because I insisted on pressing charges against the other driver. The guy in the pickup changed his story after he was informed that I had a dash cam. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but I am thinking without that dash cam I would be royally screwed at this point.
Any good advise will be appreciated on how to proceed with this mess.

Good for you! That may very well have saved you lots of grieve as you said. What dash cam do you recommend?

    What was his story before?

Glad you insisted on charges. Keep us informed.

Good for you pressing charges. I hate people like that -- you could see him afterward smugly thinking he just hit a payday...

Still, while this guy clearly was trying to make an accident, I think it was avoidable. I would have given him plenty of room after his first feeble brake check (he was probably thinking "please hit me but not too hard" then "#### he didn't hit me, I better try again!"). I have an inkling that you didn't slow as much as you could have just because you were pissed & knew you had the cam rolling...

Definitely lucky you had the dash cam. Otherwise, it's your word against his (and it appears he was trying to win the 'new pickup lottery'). Shame nobody else saw it and pulled over.

Question about your dashcam, can you reset the memory at any time on those?

I love the idea. I go to abandoned places and shoot vids also. Looking at where I've been in later years will be so cool. Too bad they didn't have cameras back then. I try to make up tho.

I am a 22 century man. Love the fact you can film your exploit. A man & a Truck, in a futile attempt to go up against Mega Carriers. Spielberg would eat this up. Trying desperately to make a living. Oh wait, BJ & the Bear, Never mind.

It's you or him and I would beat him to the draw on charges, don't know what he was pulling just someone looking for a payday. The guy that did this to you also decided to pull over in front of the flatbedder too, sure didn't look like too safe a move. They pull over in your safe spot and take up your room, cops should be writing tickets for this, my husband complains about this also.
