I'm needing (wanting) to replace my Red Wing boots. They still squeak after 1.5 years. (Previous Red Wings, never did that but they discontinued that older, similar style and replaced it with this stupid "Pecos")
I prefer a pull-on "work boot", not insulated not steel-toe (don't care for lace-up style) and oil-resistant rubber sole. I'm not into "western boot" style so much. Are there any similar boot style besides Red Wing "Pecos" that are made in the USA? I refuse to buy a boot made in China. I might buy one made in Mexico. Carhartt talks a good game about American made when/where they can but on their web site they make no direct mention of where a particular boot is made, so it's a little misleading perhaps.
Anyone have a Carhartt boot care to chime in with a review? Or know of any other American made work boots? Thanks in advance.

I love my red wing boots, but not many of their boots have steel arches in them anymore, mostly fiberglass arches that break down. Such a shame.

Have you ever tried Blundstones ? Made in China these days but they're pull on, steel toed, steel shanked and really comfy. They work very well with orthotics if you wear them.

I like the zapppos selection, in that they have some American made stuff but I'm not too keen on buying footwear (especially boots) over the internet and doesn't look like they have a retail store.

Unfortunately they are made in china, but, the quality is top of the line in comfort and durability.STexan and luvtotruck Thank this.
