I'm never out this way much, but I was wondering how us 95 is through Nevada? Don't feel like driving the 5 all the way down California. Wondering on opinions on which way would be the best?

I'm heading to Ft Worth Texas, I'm currently in Weed, California. I'm never out this way much and was wondering the best way down there. I looked at the Atlas and I'm debating on taking the 5 down to the 40, or us-95 to the 80 and such. What is your opinion?

Are trucks allowed on 89/395 to Reno? If so go that way, Reno to Vegas to Kingman then jump on the 40 to Amarillo then HYW 287 to Ft Worth. About 1860 miles that way.

Or just 5 to 99 to Barstow then over to Amarillo. About 1930 miles that way.

Youll hit 58 at buttonwollow..go east through Bakersfield and Then you'll have clear open desert hwy...the only other major town so to speak would be Barstow but that's really nothing..

    Or that.
58 is a good road. You'll have a couple towns, but nothing to worry about.

Pretty much either go down 5 or 99 to 58 and it's smooth sailing after jumping on 58
