Arizona I-10 Rest Area DOT Inspections

No problem ,all way pass and glad to see them taking junk and bad drivers off the road.

 

Yeah they got me twice. Once for a mudflap that was an inch too short and a missing back of cab reflector. Amazed I didn't kill someone.

 

They've been known for exactly 2 things You pointed out... LOL

 

California and Ohio got nothing on Arizona when it comes to roadside inspections

 

Amazing that the inspectors are writing up such minor things to earn a donut,,it is because they are finding fewer major things wrong.

One day they will be down to checking the size of bolts securing seat belts

I went 15 years with out ever having a log book checked or and inspection ,,in the mod 80's it all started big time,it was after deregulation and the many rookie drivers and driving schools popped up every where, The cops found out that a kid who worked at McDonalds a few weeks earlier and is not a truck driver was an easy target and not not much of a trucker of one at all.

They also regularly do inspections at the Love's in Gila Bend. I've witnessed this many times. Worst one was the officer watching a driver come out of McDonald's with food and citing him for not being off duty. He followed the driver to the truck and asked for the logbook. Cash citation and CSA.

 

I would have told the officer to take a hike.

 

Local police dept around pittsburgh do roadside inspections all the time in high truck traffic areas. I am sure they are just out there making money with the fines.

 

I'm not buying it..... You don't have to log off duty to go get grub. They're your HOS, you might not make much money, but you can burn them however you want.....
