Been mostly a guy in the weeds on this excellent resource. Smartassed occasionally, but a reader mostly, so I rarely ask for help. Humbly, I do now. Just quit Swift and off to Marten. I only know dry van. Any info on reefers op would be greatly appreciated. My bud tells me it's easy. Told me the same thing about driving a truck. One outta two would be great.
Reefer info?

Set the temp to what it says on the BOL, make sure the tank has fuel, drive to destination. It's that simple.

Well I have a little knowledge about them is it easy yep all you have to do is keep fuel in it and look in your mirror for the green light. There maybe a few other things to change in your daily routin that freight haulers don't care about. Like almost everything in that trailer when that little engine is running is time sensitive has a short shelf life when you get a load your almost always late before you start. Then theres produce season little sleep and has a shorter shelf life than what you delivered. Be patient the shipper knows your there and so does the receiver. They will get to you sometime and the more you bug them the longer it might take them. ALWAYS GET PHONE NUMBERS TO SHIPPERS AND RECIEVERS AND CALL THEM . Don't rely others are usually wrong and have your own numbers for lumpers shippers recivers sometimes they are handy to have. You might need a favor and they might help you out.
Ok Thats enough for now anything else holler -
Hope you enjoy driving in the dark ...
tangerineGT Thanks this. -
Precool your trailer/ A refer is designed to maintain temp not cool down the load, check loading temp of product, if warm call in before you except the load, write loading temp on BOL.
-
And enjoy sitting /waiting for your load to "cool". (10 hrs)

I do know one thing....we used to back-haul meat sometimes...our trailers had to be at 0 to -10 before they would let us back to a door....
-
They will explain what is expected during orientation. While they can't cover every situation, you will learn what is required.
