You would probably have to work for a local company. Maine is really dead for freight. Mostly lumber, big bottled water and mulch.

Need to get wife closer to family in Maine so I can keep moving. Pull flatbed now for roehl. Checked out other companies, no one goes up there. Don't want to switch to van.
-
Ya I hear ya. I think your stuck. You can work for a local lumber mill or other company but your not going to make what you do with Roehl.

Found this....... I've seen them around but have no personal knowledge of them.

Try one of the big contractors.......Reed & Reed, Cianbro, or CPM Constructors.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
This is interesting. I do lots of pipe loads up to Williston, ND. Crazy place. I've talked to many young drivers working and living up there and working their ### off. Two of them were from Maine and both had a goal. One was getting ready to leave and head back to Maine. He had $90,000 saved in less then 2 years and was ready to go home and buy a house in full. Since he would have no mortgage payments he could afford to take a local job and be happy. The other guy from Maine was doing the same. I just thought it was so cool for someone that young to be happy making enough money to be happy without stressing out.
Where do you live in Maine? I had a camp on Long Lake in North Bridgton, ME for over 20 years. Miss picking up fresh muscles once a week. -
Thanks , I appreciate all the advice. I will look into the companies you suggested.

I live in Virginia now. I like it there. My daughter grandson and son in law live in China Maine. About 20 miles from waterville. I dont want to move to Maine, too cold. But it is best for my wife.
