I got in a truck in Dec of last year as first year OTR driver. My total miles for 2014 as of now are 126 K...is that decent for a newbie or should I have considerably more? I do get home for a day or two on average every couple weeks. Just wanted some input from other drivers.
Btw about 2400 per week.
My Miles YTD good, bad, or just average???

If you are happy with it, then so am I.Everybody has a different idea as to what constitutes running hard. That is a good mileage figure, question is did you make enough $$$ for working that hard ?

I'm guess I may be semi retired, I have only run 74k so far this year lol.

Decent miles.
Be happy with em and that you didn't spend a long time in the shop.
Its a killer & waste of life.... Where I'm heading in the morning. Online reviews say its a horrid shop...2stars....46 reviews.... -
I guess I doing bad. I've only done 14k miles in the last 3 months. But I'm paid hourly, and do mostly oversize/heavy haul regionally.

Ive run right at 63k miles for the year and im done for 2014. Less than i wanted to do but i had a month off from an accident(hit while sleeping at TS,yes i got PAID) and i changed carriers during the year. Plus i took a bunch of weeks off for no good reason In my first few years i ran like you though. Get your own truck and you can make the same on much less miles if you run a good business.

136,000. It's been a slow year.
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
119K but I self dispatch and run on percentage so its more about the rates, but I have the right amount of stay busy and time off where I am happy
-
it is all about where you run too
450 miles the other day almost killed me in CA
while a quick little romp across UT and WY
seemed easy
I dont know how many miles i drove but
will make $67000/ $.42
too many I suppose
