Yeah...if the Hutch goes over a week without being run into by some knucklehead, it goes into withdrawl I believe....
Thanks for posting the pic, AZS...I just made the request myself for a few copies. Can't be too prepared. -
I have already received my maps from NY. Three days from request to arrival at home.
Kudos to the state of NY, and thanks. -

What we need is a list like this:
BRIDGE AKA 5-AXLE CASH TOLL TOLL DIRECTION
OUTERBRIDGE I278 $65 EASTBOUND ONLY
VERRAZANO NWS I278 $70 (?) WESTBOUND ONLY
BRONX-WHITESTONE I678 $35 BOTH (?)
GEO. WSHGTON I95 $65 NORTHBOUND (FROM NJ)
Delivered to Maspeth the other day and, as usual, was nervous about the infamous 12-2 sign east of Atlantic. Even took a few photos!
But the thing that irked me as much as the low-clearance postings (which I went under with a box that I have measured at 13'1") was NOT KNOWING FROM A MAP WHERE THE TOLLS ARE COLLECTED. Can somebody in the know create a table with info like what's above?
And another thing: I ARRIVED in Maspeth without too much panic but wanted to leave another way to avoid the Verrazano toll. So I headed for the Triborough and, OF COURSE, saw more dumb low-clearance signs around the area of 278 and QUEENS BLVD. So I said, "*(@^, I'm not as sure of the clearances here," and I got onto Queens Blvd. from (I think) 69th St., made an illegal left turn, and hi-tailed it back down to I-495 and east to the BRONX-WHITESTONE, then to the Cross Bronx. Could I have just taken the Triborough (RFK) to Major Deegan to Cross Bronx to Jersey????
Let's make this post even more helpful!Attached Files:

Let's see. In 35 years I have delivered an average of 35 loads a year to the 5 boroughs. Mostly Manhattan. Clearance signs are screwy, 12" less than the actual clearance- all over NY State. Don't trust one? STOP HOLD UP TRAFFIC AS LONG AS YOU NEED>
To hell with the honkers behind you. Another trick is to follow another truck with the same size trailer. If he hits, you stop...
I used to get butterflies in the stomach for the first 15 years. Not so bad now....
