I don't know, you guys all talkin about how good of a ride ya get from this or that, they all ride like trucks to me. They got all these fancy suspensions now days you'd think we'd just be floatin along like caddys by now, but nope still rides like a truck. I think the best ride I can remember ever gettin out of a truck was when Mack first went with that new cab style, wow, when was that late 80's early 90's? What are they called Visions maybe(sorry not a Mack guy, although they do make good trucks,or used to at least), anyway we were all sittin around waitin on loads, decided we'd jump in a couple of trucks run to a decent steak house, there were 5 or 6 of us. Anyway one driver had a new Mack, braggin about the ride, I was goin yea whatever it's a Mack they always ride like tanks. So he got me in his truck, we went bobtail down to steakhouse, we were of course in industrial area train tracks, and crappy road all the way. I swear best ride I ever had in a truck, and he wasn't really takin it easy niether. I couldn't believe it!! So the ride in a truck is a ride in a truck to me, probably cause my ##### is gettin so big nowdays. I don't know it doesn't seem like much difference. I know your gonna hammer me for that statement, but that's all good. ![]() Now as how they put them together now days, I'm amazed any of them stay together. Not much quality or pride in any of them anymore. Now before ya bang on my hang up for Petes, let me say this. I know they sale Pride, Class, and all that other stuff, but that pride in their sales propaganda is all BS. They're livin on the past. I don't know if I said this right, but I hope ya catch my drift. I live in the northwest, and have a couple friends that work a Freightliner, or whatever they are nowdays. They just plain don't give a poop, attitudes(holier than thou), apathetic, we deserve more this, more that. Whatever, I can't stand hardly hangin around sippin beers with them anymore, and we all used to be tight!! I've hauled out of that plant a bunch of times on jobs that have lasted months and see all the trucks that have to go back thru the lines, it's amazing!! And #### drivin around that place, the tire guys were makin a fortune off the guys not smart enough to check their tires. I mean there is stuff layin all over. I started takin coffee cans and fillin, pickin up all the loose nuts, bolts, and whatever layin around while we were loadin, after about the 4th full can I stopped. Then I think a couple other guys got busted, well not busted but told to stop. I guess that was kind of stealin. Whoops I've always said I was short, fat, and ugly but honest. I guess what I'm sayin is it's sad, pretty much every where ya go that's what ya get now, the majority just don't give a rats ##### anymore. But don't you dare slip up and make a mistake, or misunderstand, when your takin care of them, #### hits the blades. Ya know in a way I'm glad I'm gettin old and don't have ta do this too many more years, dang now I'm gettin apathetic ![]() :biggrin_255 23:Man this is gettin long, and I'm sorry for that, but I want to thank everybody for all the input. Even you guys that harassed men for lovin Pete's. It's just a thing, like some one said on a thread some where else I was readin in here, and I quote " It's like heroin, ya know it's bad but ya gotta do it anyways" I respect what your sayin, but I do watch the pennies purty hard, always have. We ya'all enjoy...I'm gone |

| If you would have came on this thread and stated what you wanted to do from the start you would have had a much different answer. There's nothing wrong with getting out of the grind and driving for fun. But you kind of baited the group so you could jump up and bark. I do believe it's very stupid to drive for a company solely on what kind of truck they run. I agree with you a truck runs like a truck until you get into a truck and trailer. When you have alot of weight up on the truck with 5000 gallons of gasoline any truck will ride smooth, sometimes beter than some cars. You need to look in the right places and companies are not the place to look. O/O or companies run by very experienced drivers are the tractors you need but you need to find out where they sell them from. An O/O would be the best. We've run all the different makes over the years and KW works out better for us than all the rest. The Pete's are just too costly and you get the same resale or lower as you would with a KW. We sell our trucks at 5 years and that would be with a 5000 gallon tank mounted to the frame with a drop axle. I saw one of our trucks for sale where the were asking $55,000 which meant the company made alot of money from that truck. They tried to lease and found out it's too costly when you turn the truck back in but everything had to work. So your only problem is you're looking in the wrong places and IMHO your looking to argue about Petes.

| I don't know why you're asking a question like this. Who's got the big peterbilt that i can't back up into this tight dock because im new to trucking. |

To me they all ride the same, there is not one truck that rides any smoother than any other truck. My Freightshaker rides just the same as my W900. They all ride nice when they are new, after a couple hundred thousand miles of being beaten up on the roads they will all ride a little rough. |

Amen driver!!!!! Quit worrying about how good you look out here (as far as your truck) and make some money. Companies that have these trucks usually can't afford the maintenance on them and don't pay their drivers very well because they're spending all their money on their equipment. |

They all ride smooth when the roads are smooth, when you are hitting the bumps they all ride rough. by the way I also own a W900 and I don't find it is any better than any other truck I have owned, some people buy into this #### that KW's and Petes are superior to all other brands. I don't buy that marketing ####. |

| Tell the truth I was given a new 08 Cascadia and the darn thing rode better than a caddy! And that Rack and Pinion steering was the cats meow! It was the best riding truck I've driven in 30 years of trucking! EVEN better than my Petes and 900's! But I still love a Peterbuilt!
