So two weeks ago I was at the port of Houston and a ##*^%#% driver that can't speak English hit my trailer at 50mph sliding it sideways 30ft and over a curve
The port has there own police that came over after it happen after trying to get the guys insurance info for 20min cops got there and split us up so I never got any info the cop said it would be on the report that I still have not got in my hand
The port police said they can't give any info because it's on private property that I may have to do a civil suit against him
So after a week at home wondering what to do I think the best thing is go buy a trailer and get back to work so I been looking at trailers and they are crazy priced what they want for flats I gave less for my step I only have $10,k I can spend on one so if you guys see something down south (Houston,tx)let me know 48x102 combo is what I'm looking for

Also what would you guys do about the trailer thing?

You could always rent one until further notice and tack that trailer rental onto the insurance and after you get your settlement buy what you want. Insurance companies will pay for your down time after providing a lot of paper work but I wouldn't bank on that. You should be able to get a police report in a few days.

I would rent a trailer and get to work.

Was he a leased on o/o by chance? My insurance company went after the company that the guy that hit me was leased to. We found out pretty quickly he didnt have insurance, so the only choice was to take it to the actually company he leased to.

Otherwise, pay your deductible and get that ball rolling towards a new trailer if thats what its going to take.

I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I was off work for a freaking month waiting for a new hood to get put on...

Your first thought was probably to snap the guys neck, as was mine. I think next time I will allow myself that pleasure and snap the ######## neck.

Sorry that happened we both know what our state is turning into. These days he will probably get a reward since he is a minority. This is a real problem in our state if you do need to go to court I might can help in this area.
I will look up here in East Texas for ya. There are quite a few trailer manf. up on 30 in Mt. Pleasant I will be in that area Saturday actually looking at trailers.
If I can help in ANYWAY let me know as I'm sure everybody knows Texans WILL help each other EVERYTIME.

Most of those guys run under someone else's numbers....
Probably has the insurance deducted from his rate settlements....

That's what I deal with running the ports.....
Believe me....When I'm dropping off a "Can".....I'm watching my ### like my life depends on it....
