So I came across some used Reitnouer flats at prime (pedigree truck sales). The spreads are moved up three feet though, that should change the bridge on the whole truck not allowing you to gross as much weight right? Or am I over thinking this?

Maybe they were 53' flats
-
no 48'x102's. They have a bunch of them, some are big bubba's. But defiantly 48's
-
I don't think 3 feet would mess up the gross to much, look at pup trailers, there still allowed 20k on single axel I thought, so my assumption would be still 80k total, 12k, 34k, then 20k on each trailer axel. Not site the point though, unless it was to make it easier to scale for something? Not sure.

We can bridge/scale 80k with 45' flats with the spreads set at the back and set forward 2/3 feet for a forklift kit. It should be fine.
-
I know nothing about flats and axle placement so I won't pretend I do however I would bet money prime did not use trailers they couldn't gross 80,000 on
-
You can gross 80 on a 40 dump trailer. Closed tandem.
-
would have to know your bridge. but i'm guessing you could haul the max gross. just won't be able to haul heavier. as in 84,000 that bridge allows with a standard traler.
i could see the spread moved forward for cali kingpin on a 53, like what system pulls, but what would be the purpose on a 48? -

I guess that all makes sense. Was just thinking of the overall bridge of the trailer and truck, it's a big bubba it will do 100k on the deck. I'm not worried about the trailer just the laws. Thanks for the replies.
