If you do could you lay some knowledge on me about how you went about the electrical.

Plenty of trucks do that. Mostly done on RGN and stepdeck.

Simple answer, No.

Most all of our O/O's run that setup but I can offer no insight as to what's involved in the setup.
What I can offer insight about though is make sure you leave the normal hookups in place with valves to shut off either end that way if anything should ever happen and someone needs to move your trailer they can hook to it. We had one of our O/O's that had a medical emergency and had to leave their trailer at a customer and I wound up caging the brakes and making a jumper for the lights to recover it so they wouldn't have to pay a wrecker to move it.MJ1657, Cluck Cluck, BeN DaViS and 4 others Thank this. -

There should be a junction box at the back of your truck you can splice into in order to run a plug out the frame. You'll need to run an ABS wire down there tho. As for the trailer we always just cut the main wiring running back about where we wanted a plug and wired in a junction box then ran a harness where we wanted the pigtail to plug into.
