Saw one today and thought to myself,.. what is the point of that? It kind of defeats the purpose to have a step?

So maybe someone here can school me and help me understand,.. or am I correct with my initial assessment?

That's the FIRST one you seen?

The idea is really no different then a flat.

Only problems I see with them. Are added weight and less available height.

They're very nice to have for tarping purposes but do limit the load possibilities.

48,000 pounds, 14 feet hight. Nothing wide unless ome has a way to fold the curtains oit of the way.

I have a step to haul taller freight. A step Conestoga greatly appeals to me as too many folks run oversize way too cheap. There is a Conestoga loading next to me right now. He'll be long gone before I get my first piece tarped

Tarped 9'6" tall new machinery that you can't walk on at the orlando convention center today only to bring the first piece 50 miles and the second 15 more miles to Tampa. I spent two+ hours tarping. Mr Conestoga was long gone. His system was from Look. I hope to get one on my new wagon by winter.

Ruthless and Cluck Cluck Thank this.

Yeah man.. first I ever saw.. and no... height was maybe 6 - 8' off lower deck. Upper deck was virtually useless. Maybe 3 - 4' clearance.

I'm he specializes in something and found a niche. Only reason I can come up with.

That I have seen,.. many times and if I didnt do OD loads,.. I would love to have something like that. Thats the cats meow vs tarping.

What I saw was the same type of conestoga you see the guys hauling coils under. Removable wood panels with the conestoga tarp on top. Thats what I saw on a step. Seemed ridiculous to me. But I'm sure that guy is laughing at me when I have to tarp.

    So who knows?
