05 columbia a/c blowing but not getting cold

June 2011 compressor burnt out went to TA amarillo tx got it replace
    New compressor $705

January 2012 a/c not gettin cold went to TA they told me compressor leaking throught the main bolt. The TA in amarillo put the old man bolt in the new compressor when they should have just put in a new bolt, this could have been avoided.
New compressor $free (warranty cover the compressor)
Labor $345 (I had to pay for problem they cause)

February 2012 a/c not getting cold went to TA low pressure switch bad
    New switch + labor $138

March 2012 a/c not gettin cold (tired of going to TA)
    Time for DIY

All this could have been avoided if they had replace the ac compressor, main bolt, ac dryer, and the high and low switch when the system caught on fire.

    Where do I start?

Hmmmm, maybe would have been better to start off with that little fact?
What damage was done to what when what set on fire?
Details are needed of this "fire".
Have they added die to the system yet to see where the leaks are?
Have you had the gauges on it to confirm it is low on R134?

So does it currently have refrigerant in the system then?
That is the first thing to find out.

You need a good A/C Tech to go through your system top to bottom- then you need to have the same person do all the future repairs. T/A just guesses, replaces parts and hands you a bill.

Does the compressor come on does it kick on and off a lot to much freon is just as bad as not enough to much and it won't cool right dis the change the office tube or expansion valve if it indeed does

Have a dryer and not an accumulater then it has an expansion valve it will be at the firewall where the lines pass through to the evaparator it will be a little square aluminum block and the lines will go through it sounds like its stuck if you had a compressor failure they should have flushed the system replaced the dryer and expansion valve it the expansion valve sticks it will take out compressors very quickly if the hi side sensor fails the safety blow off valve on back of the compressor dosent always let enough pressure out fast enough also you should check your evaparator to see if its plugged with dirt and debris

Since all previous work was done by TA and have warranty on labor and parts I decide to go to another TA so they can check all previous work and hoping it would be some that was under warranty, I stop at TA in rogers mn they check for leaks and say "the air dryer was bad" replace the air dryer charge the system and within 24hrs and $391 parts and labor the ac stop working.
I contact them they told me go to a TA/PETRO have them check it
Soon as I got off the phone with the service manager I stop the payment

The previous ta in NC replace the low pressure that's connect to the ac dryer, I call the service supervisor and ask him how did his technician know it was the switch that was bad, he say they got a false reading. I ask him if the switch monitoring the ac dryer and the ac dryer bad will the switch will give a false reading he say yes. So I say the other ta told me it the ac dryer so your mechanic fix the wrong part because my switch wasn't bad. They don't want to own up to their mistake.

Now the ac not working after the new ac dryer, on the work order it says "quick connect fitting to ac dryer is wet possible sign of leaking.

They won't be touching my truck again, and I got a new ac dryer for free because they not getting paid for it.

They need to hire technicians and stop hiring mechanics.
Mechanics throw parts at it until eventually he throw the correct part, technicians test to find the part that's bad and fix it right the first time.
