Rolls Canardly here,
I wanted to post this as a heads up for everyone with a 3126 Cat engine that develops a miss.
I started having electrical miss in #4 cyl.
Dealer hooks up to computer,(for free,) and says it is electrical. I thought; Here we go again!
My case - easy fix happened to be - pushing in on the plug to computer on driver side of block.
Plug is held in w/screw and I then tightened about 3/4 turn and problem solved.
Even was able to cancel appointment with Dealer for the next day to fixing it!!!
I was looking at possible new harness for $400.00 plus labor.
Don't overlook the easy stuff first.
(This thing never ran so good!)

That's how it is with the 3100 series Cats. The 76's we had cracked the front cover n leaked oil like a Yamaha, over heated in traffic and ate injuctors for bfast.
It was so bad we had 6 out of service waiting for parts we stole to patch others.
Shame too, Dad was an engineer for Cat on the generator side. Proud company.....always had a large xmas party for all the employees and families. I can't believe these engines came from that company......... anything for profit I guess..... -
I was the unlucky owner of a 3126. Never again...

the problem of HEUI connectiona is that termonals may loose and I use to bent female terminals with needle to make them be a bit tighter)
3126 could be a good engine, but it got connetion problems and it is oil/filter sencetive, especially in wintertime. We had many oil issues with Russian made LIAZ buses with 3126.
So you are not only one who is unlucky with HEUI. I'd prefere MBE OM906 (PLD) ore Cummins ILS engines!
