If you're using synthetic, go to WAL MART and buy it there. It's HALF the price as cowpie suggested.

I've run into this problem of "missing" oil, when was the last time the filters were changed? I get anywhere near my oil change interval and pressure drop some and it starts drinking oil, I've gone thru 1gal in about 1500mi. change the filter and I'm good to go!.

Engines don't like to be over full either. Even with the oil at the "full" mark may be too much oil. Too much oil leads to oversplash on the cylinder walls. This is more than the oil rings can handle, oil works it way up past the fire rings and gets burned. Engines all have an operating range of oil level that is for the most part generous. It is safe to operate the engine until the oil level reaches the "add" mark. Most dip sticks are a good inch or more between "full" and "add". Your engine's optimum oil level may be half way between full and add. We have several customers that tell us this. If their engines are refilled after a service right to the full mark, it will burn oil unit the oil is about 1/2 way down, then stop. After that, they won't burn a drop. Your engine may need to find it's own "happy" spot with the oil level. If there is a mechanical reason for the engine burning oil it will continue to do so regardless of level. I would run the engine and only add until it reaches the "add" mark and only add enough oil to reach the 1/2 way point between full and add. If you find you have to refill a few times after that, this would confirm you have a mechanical problem. Glazed liners/worn piston rings are most likely problem with large volume oil loss.

Have you checked you're air tanks to make sure that the compressor is not putting oil on the air system I'm not to familiar with these engines but that has to be one of the first things you check maybe see if you can run a dump test and get a blow by reading give you a better idea how the engine is inside

if it is oil then its time for taking head off.
    a. broken or worn oil removing piston rings
    b. worn valve guides/seals
what is the mileage of your truck ? what year is it ?
