Buying a XL tranny swap?

    true to a point but with the 13 he can stay in his power band pull the hills better by splitting the gears and get better mpg than say he spit twice to make the pull just shift the whole gear back up on the down side to reduce shifting times.

    your gear ratio will be the same from your 13 dream and your 9 speed in it. as for the running lower rpms...good luck with that. its an older cat. older motors don't run like these crap new motors. they run better at 1350 or higher 1450 is prime time. question is what rears are in it...

    not sure if you mean you will walk away from it, but its a 9 auto top 2 which is pretty much a 13 speed. that tranny is easy to convert to a 13 werner normally does have it convert when they sell them to increase the sale price...

    ya I agree cat was telling me that I should get a lower rpm running at its good mpg area 1200rpms at 65 with the truck specs im used to running around that speed so should be ok. I just don't think it will run at 1200rpms at 65 I thinking it will do 1350-1400 but idk depends on the gears.i pick the truck up in about a week so I will know then.
