the contacts on mine were bad so he clean them.I don't want to spend $600++ if its not them

not as much as it will cost you in fuel if it's the issue.
Start at the ECM. (Disconnect ALL the battery negatives first.) Disconnect the ECM connector, Take the loom clamps off behind and above the ECM. and start to open up the harness. Before you get to the second bend, my bet is you will find chaffing on the wires inside that is exposing wire. -
I know this was 5 years ago but I kind of want to know what was really wrong with it was that the harness after all

Me too as I have the same yr Shaker. Power distribution module located in fuse panel controls fan along with a few other sensors.
