Freightliner Columbia Shifting Problem

Thats what I'm worried about. This truck has a 475 Mercedes engine in it. The contract I have now deals with very heavy loads up to 60000lbs over the mountains. I'm used to 18 spd and having the power to putter up the hills(I'm lucky to go 45km/h usually). Is this one going to be able to handle such weight over mountains with 8-11% grades?

I couldn't tell you that. I'm with you though, I'd prefer at least a 13 speed in all cases probably an 18 in yours.
