Tearing out old smelly carpet..

    I like the looks of that so far...Is there anything i can put on the bottom on the floor to seal leaks,cracks etc etc...Before i start putting new sound barrier and carpet or wood down..?

    I need to ''inspect'' this floor..I have 2 million on this frame...:biggrin_2551:

    I doubt your leaks are from the floorboard. They are most likely from entry points above the floor. Every bolt on item like visors, horns, handles and firewall entry points are possible leaks. If you do have holes in the floor, a good silicone caulk is all you need

    Update...I took out my passenger seat because it is not needed...The carpet is out now and it was VERY MOLDY...This may be the reason why i am sneezing all the time in my truck...

    I have to run some trips so i have to live with ''scatter'' rugs on the floor for now until we get back home and start working on it again...

    I still have not decided what to replace it with....Right now i am going to clean the floor with BLEACH and WATER...

    Be a leader - polish the aluminum floor and you will be the first to have a polished aluminum floor. Everyone else will then copy you. :biggrin_2559:

    Your mold had to be coming from all the residue caked into the carpet. The carpet and padding they use doesn't support mold growth by itself.

    You probably have mold spores in the ventilation system now and no doubt there's layers of dust in there that will be a nice biosystem for mold growth.

    Check your AC Condensor and the filter in your cab for the heating/cooling, also under the bunk. I bet those are full and possibly moldy too. We just cleaned the hubby's A/C condenser and it was crazy packed with stuff. Of course we hadn't checked it since he quit hauling hopper and that stuff get's everywhere. Just another source for mold. Also use vinegar water to eliminate the smell and kill spores. Your truck will smell like a pickle for a couple days, but it really does eliminate the odor and freshen up the cab.
