    That is shameful, only 5,5...Horrible....mine with an s60 Detroit gets 7+ loaded, 9+ empty. The cat hates to go above 1400 rpms, so 72 is killing you. If you want to go 72 a lot, change your dif so you can go 75 at under 1400 rpm.

    When it has a heavy load like more than 35k lbs looks like the the multi torque kicks in and does fair mileage. I usually drive 60-63mpg and it seems that the diff ratio vs horsepower don't match. My buddy drive a fl Columbia with a s60 but he does 63mph @1450rpm and with a 53' reefer with 40k + lbs loads and does 7mpg.

    Look like the sweet spot for a 14L Detroit is 470 and 490 off cruise.

    I might need a higher diff ratio at least between 3.55-3.70 so the engine don't has to push to hard to move the diffs and tires.
