    Hi,

I've got a buddy who's rolling an `10 Cascadia, and wants to pull his jump seat out. Says "theirs not enough room."
I don't really understand how someone could be in a Cascadia, and claim there isn't enough room, but hey- it's a weird world.
Anyhow, he asked me if I knew how to do it, since I drove one for a good bit of time. Problem is, just because I drove one, that doesn't make me a FL certified mech.

Curious if anyone here has done it, and if so, anything he needs to keep an eye out for? Any particular problems he might run into?

Fairly sure there isn't any regulations/laws about, and outside of loosing his ability to have passengers safely ride in the front I don't see any major issues with it.

    Thanks!

OH, btw. It goes without saying, he's O/O.

Maybe it's a Mini Cascadia, like the small ones Prime runs.
They have taken the Seats out of a lot of those.

'Mine' has plenty of room though.

Btw, seems like it should be pretty simple.

    cabwrecker Thanks this.

spray bolts from underneath with wd40 so the chance of them breaking is reduced he will also need a fitting to plug airline underneath cab unless he wants to trip on it inside cab he will need to rethread bolts into holes PS seat is alot heavier than it looks be careful removing after he unbolts it

Naw, he's got the full size.
Think I saw a few Swift trucks running those half cabs, the other day. I assume that is punishment for rolling their last truck (hue-hue-hue-hue)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll pass the news along.
If I know him, he wants to sit an extra fridge down there or something weird like a dog kennel. Guy stays out 2-3 months at a time so I couldn't honestly blame him for wanting every available inch. Probably not all that worried about tripping over it.

The first company I drove for in 1993 removed my passenger seat, at my request. Wasn't a cascadia, but still, is surprising how much room it frees up. I'd ask my company now about pulling it out, but my sons like to go with me in the summer.

If you're not going to have passengers. Why not? Even in a condo.

Ive seen some pretty cool setups in the lightweight trucks at Prime. It frees up some space... Prime installs brackets for strapping stuff down. Some of the guys get the bigger dorm fridges, put a microwave on top. Another built a shelf system around and over his fridge.

In a condo you friend could probably get even more creative with the space available.

I am starting a new job next week and will be running a day cab Cascadia. I was wanting to remove seat also so I can but a cooler or fridge in. I'll be out a couple nights a week, and on those nights company puts me in a motel, so it would be nice to keep healthy food with me, as I am really going to try to finally lose some weight.
