1997 Fld 3406e needs help

I have a1997 FLD with 3406E 5EK! Just had some work done and drove it home ran really good! After getting home it was idling and quit and wouldn't start no check engine light when key is on. I have a good ECM from a 98 1LW so, I disconnect the batteries and hookup the 1lw ECM and she fires right up and idle well but, has raw fuel smoke and will cut out up to a certain rpm. And stops the smoking after you get speedup! the 97 has a 9 speed with 340 rears 24.5 LP rubber and the 98 of course was a 1lw with a 10 over with 3.90 rears and 22.5 Lp rubber! Question is if I have the ECM programmed to this engine will that raw fuel go away. Is there that much difference in the injectors that it should do so! Before it quit all was well! Thanks!

 

Don't know much about the truck! Bought it to replace my 98 I destryed in Wyoming in November. I may have spiked the ECM or the mechanic may have with a battery charge. For some reason someone turned the batteries around!

 

Mechanic came by today and appears that the number one injector is dead! Mechanic ask me if I had the code to get into the ECM but, I don't! I don't have the truck this ECM came out of so, I don't know the engine serial no#. Is there anyone that access to the info if They had the truck vin! 1FUYDXYB3WL981639 ? If I had engine serial maybe I could fiind a code! I'm not trying to create a hotrod. Just get back to work after 5 months! Thanks for any help! Bob
