2012 Freightliner Cascadia Engine Light Question

    Hello, I am a truckers wife of 11 years. I need help with an engine light problem my husband is having and I am hoping you fellow truckers can help. Okay.
    We have a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia and there is 2 lights that are yellow that keep coming on. One is a check engine with a check and the other one is yellow with out a check and a code of EEC61 comes up as well. Also, his windshield wiper fluid is not coming out and he made sure it is topped off but still is not shooting out the fluid to clean windshield. Can anyone give some help with these issues. He is driving and it is up to me to get the answers. And a BIG THANK YOU in advance.

    Should get to a service center to check why the malfunction indicator is lit, it says there is a sensor malfunction somewhere.

    Now that being said, you can have low voltage for some reason to any of the sensors and trigger that light. Is it running ok or has it been derated to a lower speed?

    Sounds like a switch problem for washer not working/. With this much going on, I'd pull the battery cover from under the step and check the terminals for corrosion appearing around them before I did anything else.

    Thank You for your advice and I will relay this to my husband. We wanted to try to avoid having to go to the service center but it looks like we might have too. As far as the truck running it is and it doesn't derate to a lower speed. Thank You!

    Get to a shop asap if the check engine light doesnt go out. EEC61 relates to the aftertreatment. If he keeps ignoring it, it will derate him to 5mph.

    Did he get it fixed? What other info comes with the EEC61 code. I just purchased a 2012 Cascadia DD13 with 278k miles. I have dosing unit 07 in addition to the EEC61 code. I can not start a conversation for a few more posts. Thank you. Please Advise.
