So I assume your primary tank is building fast? I was going to say weak compressor but if your primary is building quickly then I don't think it would be that.I know on my truck (03 century) I have air tanks that have built in check valves. There is a baffle in the tank and it has a check valve in it. Mine wouldn't build fast like yours then all at once the check valve would release and it would start building. Just a thought. As a temp fix you can buy a check valve and run you a air line from the front of the tank to the back of the tank and install that check valve in that line.

Pull the line off the ouy put at the compressor, start it and check the out put. Mine went bad and I could stop the air output with my thumb, after the mech. changed dryer cartrage.
It could also be a pluged check valve. Sounds like you need a new shop. -
this is something any mechanic worth his salt can knock out in one afternoon. Like the previous poster said, find a new shop! Because it sounds to me like you're being had! It's sucks but that's just how some dealerships operate, like the Tracy road equipment (freightliner) in kirkwood/binghamton, new york (bunch of no good lazy crooks)

that is common mistake alot of parts houses make. becasue of the PR pressure settings the accesories and secondary are opening up at the same pressure so its casuing the sconady tank to build "slow" which is actually normal for that particular air dryer.
rollin coal, Jimmbuds and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this. -
