Have a 68 freightliner with a 750-c luberfiner on it and have never replaced the element. Anybody know how to do this correctly and any idea what filter it uses. Has a 671 detroit in it. Do not have a vin number and my dad has passed so short of info here. Thanks!

Wow what a blast from the past. I'm sure your local truck parts can get you the proper element.
chalupa Thanks this. -
Find the drain plug on bottom, remove clamp on top half to change filter, any truck pro or parts house will have new filter + gasket it will fill slowly crack vent on top till oil shows.

Do you need to loosen vent on top to allow air out after starting engine?
baha Thanks this. -
Yeah it stinks as dad passed and I am trying to figure this out.

671 huh ? Still runs? Get yourself a blower speed kit and 6 / 9290's ( injectors ) That will get you bout 270 hp. Throw in a turbo and intercooler and we can bust 300hp. Find a source of ice cold water and we can cross 350 hp.
Good luck !! -
Runs good but oil pressure is getting weak so I thought I would change the oil and filters. Only runs grain from field to bin. Longest run is 1.5 miles one way. Thanks for replies.
