I'm driving along the 401 in the Trenton, Ontario area and my truck begins to vibrate... My first thought is a front tire is going flat, but before I can slow down to pull over, the vibration stops as quick as it came.

I pull off into the next ONroute rest Stop, I check out my front wheels, the only thing I notice is my passenger side center hub cap is a little wonky, so I remove it (the driver's side one took off awhile ago)... And then something catches my attention on top of my cab... The passenger side section of the Sun Visor decided it wanted to part ways with the rest of the Sun Visor!

I tore off the broken part, there was no evidence of anything striking it. I contacted the one Dealer I've been going to for my last few warranty issues and service, they suggested that it would be an insurance claim not warranty... I'm like, no, I don't think so, this is a faulty part and should be covered... So I contact my selling Dealership, and sure enough, I find out that this has happened before and is a known issue... I brought the truck and broken piece to them so they could confirm it wasn't struck by anything, and I've got a new one on order under warranty.

I'm just curious if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them?

This is on my new 2015 Freightliner M2.

I can't imagine if it totally broke off! There was traffic behind me when this happened! It's a good thing a few strands of fiberglass were strong enough to hang on!

There was no advance warning, just some vibrations of the cab, no visual indications during my pretrip. It looks like it just broke away from the mounting pylon.

Update! I finally had it replaced (under warranty) this week!

It took 2 1/2 hours, mostly to let the silicone dry, but it's all good now, let's hope this one is more structurally sound than the previous one!
