    Hi guys
I'm new here. Just wondering if anyone heard this noise. I have an 2005 c. class. It's making this big pitch noise in the dash when I accelerate hard--usually up a hill. I can still reach top speed on regular roads but when I rabbit the accelerator just slightly it makes this high pitch deafening noise. Once I ease off the accelerator & find the spot the noise is gone. Only when rabbit punch it. Any insights guys?? Thanks...

Turbo going south? Since it's related to the accelerator, I'm thinking turbo. Better check that soon, if it scatters, big time repair.

The sound is loud and clear coming from the driver side dash. As I recall is in the turbo on the passenger side?? Do you know what would be making that sound?? Thanks again.

Well, the sound could be coming through the firewall and it sounds like it's coming from the driver's side. Is the turbo leaking oil? I'd take the rubber boot off the turbo (either from air cleaner, or the other side) you should see the fins of the turbo, see if there's any play in the turbo, try wiggling it, and spin it. If a turbo bearing is going, I've heard that high pitched whistle.

Do you have a boost gauge? If it's mechanical maybe cracked line.

I solve the problem. I was changing my fuel filter when I notice soot coming outs of the EGR tube. Above the valve. There was a broken clamp. Replace the clamp and all is good now. Thanks for your replies.

Great. It would be great if all repairs would be that simple.

A lot of them are if you catch them before they happen. That was a good example of a driver paying attention to his Truck and being pro active on it. "Good Stuff" he..he.. AKA Kevin Rutherford
    It's true though...good job driver!
And to the drivers who put in their 2 cents.
This forum is awesome! Lots "Good Stuff" here. :)
