Today the hose that goes to the CAC from the engine (14L Series 60) finally gave it up..(two large gashes on it), I called Freightliner (Detroit Diesel does not carry it as it is a Freightliner part!!!!) and got quotes from $150 - $181....all for a 20 inch piece of black rubber hose!!!!!(it's the hose on the driver's side, NOT the silver and blue one on Passengers side)....the truckers best friend (duct tape) got me home, but ####....all that money for a hose???....well, I had to order it for tomorrow as none of the Chicagoland dealers had it in stock!!!....
PS. Northwest Freightliner in Palatine came in with the lowest price....again.....(they also are open Sundays for you OTR guys who might get stuck)....
$150 for a CAC hose!!!!

Did you try FleetPride? They usually have the best prices.

That's because it's a high pressure silicone hose, not rubber hose you buy at Home Depot.
CaboverKid and Skate-Board Thank this. -
is it a necked down hose or just standard 4" in and 4" out 6" ish long air to air boot? if it is iv gotten them from freightliner for about 40 bucks each with clamps.
some of the more specialty ones where is say 4" in 3" out type stuff can get kinda pricey -
Made in China with pride........
for a dollar
and a $151 markupheavyhaulerss Thanks this. -
You near south bend, IN? PBS truck parts is typically much better than dealer price for same item
you typically need to get part # from dealer then call pbs and give em part number, but if it's a simple cac ljne, might get away with telling em hose dia and length... -
Already changed it....$150...oh well...
