so ever since i been recently shopping i just found out that freightliner have cummins in it, hmm newbie problem lol.
do any of u guyss have this type of set up and how well did cummins do with the freightliners.
Was cummins in 2012 still having major issues with emission crap?
the truck i am looking at is 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with isx 450HP 10speed manual, mileage range anywhere from 4-5k miles. i havent contacted the guy yet being its a weekend so i got no clue which company they were with, they are in red color {just throwing everything out there}
any pros or cons you guys want to share..
and yes i do want to get a dd15 but the price on these is just right..

How much are they asking for this truck?

I would buy the Cummins over the DD15 all day long, the Cummins and Detroit's have the same emission problems Detroit handles them a little better than Cummins. They are both very good motors but the emissions systems need special maintenance attention but YOU have to be willing to do the work your self. You CANNOT afford to pay someone else to do it.
Justrucking2 and Mraj22 Thank this. -
todays trucks are getting harder and harder for UUUUUUU to do the work yourself.
just saying. -
you use to be able to rebuild a 318 detroit in someones driveway in a day and a case of beer in case you got hot and dry. you will notice i said someones drive way not mine never owned one i was a cat man back then. snowwy is right its to the point now that its really hard to work on your own truck. you guys be safe out there
Mraj22 Thanks this. -
I own 2012 Cascadia with dd15. I can't imagine owning this truck without DiagnosticLink 8 and USB nexiq. I get codes at least once in a mount. Going to dealer for this codes would cost me big money. Aftertreatment part of engine is easy repairable if you have that software. Detroit-Freightliner sensors are cheap in the dealer. Freightliner sells that software for $500.
