I have an International 4700 DT 466 this morning went to check oil and found antifreeze in oil pan. Nothing is leaking on ground, nothing is covering motor and the truck was not blowing white smoke last time it ran, which was two days ago. Does anyone know what would have cause this problem?

Cylinder liner O-ring failure. Very common on these engines.
-
You would drop the oil pan, pressurize the cooling system, and watch for any coolant running down around the cylinder liners like Bender was saying. The oil cooler can also cause this, but is usually oil in the coolant.

Thanks for responding! Sounds like the engine would have to be rebuilt? Is this correct? If so, ballpark price on how much to fix? Thanks.

$1500 dollar overhaul kit and about 28 hours labor, figure in $500 for misc stuff. Do the work yourself or find a wrench to do it as side work and save big!

Thank so much for responding... I need to learn to fix this stuff myself!

It takes time to learn and during that process your truck is not earning and if you make a big boo boo you could have big regrets.
How many miles/hours are on your engine? -
About 55,000 miles and 7500 hours.
-
Did you over heat it? Very common, I think if you go over 220 that is when those o-rings fail. Or, maybe they failed over time? Do you have any loss of power? Stop using that engine and get it over hauled.

We did run into an overheating issue - that was resolved - but I guess that could have caused the problem. No recent loss of power either other than my 7 year old having to get out and push me up a hill . LOL. Just checked the oil before work and it was high on the dipstick - I then drained it and saw the antifreeze. No problems that led up to it though.
