The clicking sound will be your relays, and they make that sound in normal operation. I mean, check the relays, but with what little info there is, sounds like your starter is giving up the ghost. Have you had any hesitation previously from the starter when you went to crank it? Maybe it would hesitate for a second before cranking over?

Starter is newish.the clicking sounds more like two pieces of metal hitting together
-
Sounds like a battery or connection issue. If you're able have someone turn the key while you watch the starter. A poor connection you'll see sparks fly. The hold down nut can be a hair loose or there is corrosion built up. That's where I'd start.
dustinbrock Thanks this. -
batts may be discharged, try jumping it off

The relay essentially is two pieces of metal clicking together to make the connection once you energize the power side. I would check the main ground from the starter to the frame, I had this issue with my 9300

sounds like my issue...did you check your circuit breakers because I have the same clicking sound and my eaton shift tower circuit blew and it's a pain in the ### to order..

however, I have an automatic!
