I purchased a repo from a finance company last September, turns out the a/c system was worked on just prior (compressor, thermistors)
Everything was working for a few months, then when the a/c was turned on it would run cold for 15 minutes, then warm up until the truck was restarted, then would run cold for 15 minutes again.
Dealer said replace the thermistors so we did.
Worked great for a couple weeks, then would run cold for 15 minutes, then warm until the truck was restarted. Dealer said the thermistors were bad out of the box and replaced them again.
Worked great for a couple weeks, now I'm in the south where its hot, and again, it runs cold for 15 minutes, then warms up. I have shut off the warm coolant tap from going to the heater core, and am getting real good at restarting the truck without slowing down on the highway, but surely there is a better fix?

One thing I did notice this time, I had the defrost on, and when I turned it to "norm" no air came out the vents until I closed all the vents but one, turned the switch to vent only, and restarted the truck. Then the air started blowing out the vent, and I turned it back to "norm" and it blew cold air, but only for 15 minutes, then the air warmed up. So the thermistor went out at the same time. Related?

    Looking for any suggestions. Thanks

If you could connect to Diamond logic builder software you can see what the body controller is doing. The AC is all computer controlled. If it shuts off after a few minutes you can see why. It should also be logging a code. One of the problems that resets after a key cycle is pressure that is sensed too high. I suspect you have a pressure sensor problem, or wiring. You can try to replace the high pressure sensor if you feel lucky, other than that you may need to take it to the dealer.

Took it to the dealer again, they connected to the computer and all they could tell me was it was a bad thermistor again, so they replaced it again, and will see how that works for a while, and they are using the solid body thermos stores and not the Bulb type.
I did check the software and it is upgraded

Where is that on a 2013 prostar? Pass side going to radiator?

I haven't seen it on a 13. I have the cummins and it's up top by the valve cover on the pass side of my 09. It's a lil hand wheel just above my turbo. The dealer also told me I had a bad compressor. They also told me I had a bad DOC and aftertreatment valve. I took it to another dealer, they replaced my after treatment injector (fuel shut off valve) problem solved.

The problem that our man found was, we had no cut off for the heater core, which caused the fan to be pulling hot air from the heater core and cold air from the a/c core. We also had the thermistors replaced they cost $136 and a compressor compressor for $158. The thermistors were replaced in Hickory and we were told all we would get was 20 below ambient temp. Our guy Jeff in Dallas Ga. Changed the compressor and installed cut offs to the heater core. Now we're getting 44 at the vent.
He didn't use a computer at all.

Right, if you through enough parts at it the problem usually goes away. But that gets expensive after a while.
