I have a '99 9400 with an n14 celect plus. I'm having an issue with it getting hot very quickly (even empty on the highway).
Installed a new water pump, wans't it.
New thermostat at an international dealership, they do a pressure test on the cooling system and it's good. Still wasn't it, but it fixed me loading heat in the winter. And yes it will heat up in the winter sometimes going through town, taking off from lights... 205 about the fan kicks on and sits off at 197 about....
Only thing left a guy would think it's the radiator... Installed a new one, and the old one didn't look that bad, but I was thinking maybe it was internal.... Still heating up quickly, within a mile or so just getting up to 65 it'll get hot...

    Any thoughts?

Took the a/c condenser right off thinking maybe it was restricting the flow... nope.

Charge air is fine, I get instant turbo boost...

    Im stumped.

Head gasket isn't cracked, I'm not boiling over any antifreeze nor is it going through any...

You may have a pin hole leak in a cylinder liner. Take the oil pan off then put pressure to the cooling system. If you see a water leak( may take a couple of hours) you will have to replace that liner. DO NOT USE STOP LEAK!

check the oil cooler. if there is a restriction in the cooler it will cause the oil to heat up. in return, run hot. is there any oil coming out the dip stick tube dirty pan screen will restrict oil flow and may cause it to run hot. also check exhaust flow. to much back pressure can cause it.

Take off your upper and lower rad hoses and make sure there isn't an old rag stuck mid way in the pipe blocking coolant flow.

I'll check out that oil cooler and that pan screen on my next oil change... the truck is straight piped right now temporarily, so back pressure isn't an issue. No oil conferring our the dip stick either

    Why not try stop leak?
