My company is in the same boat. Break downs, repairs made then the same repairs made again.

Just buy a glider. Less money, less downtime, no regen/def, save money on fuel.

My point is for anyone thinking off buying a glider to do his/her reasearch.
It isn't all benefits with a glider,there are several negatives also.
It all depends on what kind off operation you are running. -
Well, I guess it could be that some ports also restrict. I don't have that problem either. California and ports are not in my game plan. I saw all of this coming years ago, along with the e-log and speed limiter stuff also about ready to hit us in the rear, and started working on a customer base that I don't have to deal with CA and ports, I can operate pretty much within a 500-600 mile radius of the house. And the products are just about as recession proof as one can feasibly get. Not a perfect situation, but darn close. And the glider I have fits nicely in that niche. I run a lot of bulk stuff and metals, so weight is a factor, and I can put 2000 lb more in the box than any of the company trucks at the carrier I work with. Whether a glider fits into someone else's operation, they will have to figure that out, for sure. Nice thing about mine, is that the shorter runs pay a premium over the regular long haul stuff, I am no where near a port or CA, most of my runs get me by the house during the week and off on the weekends, and I don't have to deal with the emissions stuff.
Did stop into the dealer today where I bought mine. They are really cranking gliders out. They have 100 Cascadia gliders on order set to be delivered soon. Right now, they are the only dealer to work the solution to putting a pre-egr Detroit into a new model Cascadia. Fitzgerald gave up trying. While this dealer was at it, they developed a solution to putting pre-egr engine into the latest Coronado model also, so they are not hamstrung with the 1st generation model as they have been. They have gone past the building glider phase to where they are now a full assembly line production facility. Glider from the factory rolls in one end and goes thru assembly line build just like a truck at the regular plant. They have more demand than they can meet. They are quite comfortable that gliders will be a part of the landscape for a long, long time. They did a 13 truck sale to a buyer right while I was talking with them today. The EPA could give a rip. EPA doesn't even give them a call. The only kink is that now a glider is not exempt from Fed Excise Tax. And that is what it is all about... government just wants its cut of the action. They don't care one bit about air quality, just money. Still a bargain. -
I drove one of the first Prostars with the Maxxforce 13. loved the truck but not the motor. Does anyone know if International still sells gliders?
