1998 Int. 8100 Day Cab 4x2 Serial #574966 Mfg. 14 Jan. 1998 (Made in USA)
Sometimes DRL will illuminate normal, sometime will not illuminate, most time will flicker rapidly.
Bright and dim headlights, fog lights, flash to pass, marker interrupter work normal.
Changed pressure switch between DRL circuit and Cruise Control-Brake circuit to eliminate
malfunctioning pressure switch.
Just about leaves a bad module--With your impressive International truck knowledge what do you think
is the problem?
Thanks 71 Int.

Don't know much about International, but on my Volvo truck with DRL it was the Module, so I say it's most likely the same with yours.

Check your ground connections too.

Daytime running lights in your truck does not use a module. Switching out the pressure switches is a good idea. Your truck uses two relays to reroute power through the high beam circuit in series through each head light to produce the lower power DRL. The power for this is also a separate fuse. The relays will be at the lower left main fuse panel under the key switch, or behind the dash panel on the passenger side. The fuse should be F30 which is a 10 amp. Usually corroded connections cause dim or no lights. Flickering sounds more like a bad relay, or a relay with a bad power.

this truck is wired like the ones that are mfg effective October 01 1998
there are no relays in the circuit. today I removed Signal-Stat solid state

Heavyd Thanks this. -
LOL, I just double checked the diagram I pulled, it is 1988, not 1998. Sorry about that. I hope the module fixes you up!
