This truck has been haunting me for mths, 2006 international DT466 truck wont crank turn the key nothing all the relays click, the only thing i hear when i turn the key is the turbo?? (someone at international told me that's what it was) the injectors do NOT pre cycle. If i jump the stater relay ground to 85 it will crank but not fire
this is What i have done i have gutted the wire harness from the truck went trough it on the bench inch by inch wire by wire didn't find anything, cleaned EVERY connector on the truck, checked the clean power feeds clean power feeds as at the battery, gone through the clean power feeds with a power probe 11.4v, replaced the neutral safety, I am lost all the fuses are good all the relays are good i know the no crank DT466 is a known issue, i have talked to a few techs that work for international my husband hates that they will talk to me and not him sometimes being a female mechanic has its benefits [IMG] awhile ago when this issue 1st happen (6 mths ago) I took out the fuses in the fuse block driver side fender well and cleaned all the terminals the plastic guard at the bottom of the windshield is cracked so it looked like it was getting wet for some time plus i had done some other things plugging and unplugging, check and recheck (honestly i dont remember everything i did it was a few months ago)
hopped in the truck turned the key heard noises that the truck never made before (called my husband to make sure he didn't put a bomb in it *we had talked about it* haha) IT CRANKED AND STARTED!!! put everything back together re zip tied everything, Moved the truck 50ft to turn it around in parking lot at maybe 5mph range inhibit light came on then acted like it was in neutral recycled key got another 15 foot same thing finally got the truck back to where it was only backed up to the bay door this time shut it off hasn't cranked since Any help would be more than appreciated thanks in advance

Have you checked if you are getting battery voltage on the signal/trigger terminal for the starter (key in start position)??

Let's do this step by step...!

I am betting that you have an Allison automatic transmission. If so,your problem is probably transmission related. You will need to plug in laptop with Allison DOC program.Good luck.

Yes I have power to the striker wire at the starter I have hooked the laptop up to the truck checked the trans the only thing that's strange is it won't bring up the ecm for scanning almost like it saying it doesn't have one I know the ecms go bad on these I just feel like if it was bad then I wouldn't have gotten it to crank months ago however I did order a new rebuild kit for the ecm.. Waiting for it to come in. Does anyone know what the 2 Tyco boxes are that are mounted on the block above where the trans and block meet I have asked international and they have no idea :/ my quess is that they are for the injectors since the injectors need 120v for power so maybe they convert 12c to 120v. I ask cause they have 2 thick battery feeds that go to them that Y at the Tyco boxes terminals however when I test the terminals one is power other ground but when I test the feed wire right before the Tyco box both are power and the power feeds hook directly to them strange...

Sounds to me like the ECM is not powering up. If it is, you will get "check engine" and "stop engine" yellow and red warning indicators coming on in the cluster at key on for a bulb check. The engine turns these lights on. No warning lights means the ECM is not turning on at key on. The crank circuit also goes through the ECM. The ECM will allow the engine to crank if it is booted properly.

I'm hopeing that's it the only lights on are the check elec system, ac and red brake that's cause I have the abs mod on the bench the dash does the self check and all the lights come on go off then this 3 come back ok. Does it make any difference in dio the no crank that this is the navistar 466?
