This is what the technician told me today when they had a look at one of my trucks.

It is a 2010 Intl prostar bought in a dealership owned by Daimler.

It had a 60 day warranty for whatever goes wrong with the truck and that classic NTP warranty after that

In those 60 days it stopped once and it was taken to a Freightliner dealership (that's what was the term of that warranty because Daimler owns Freightliner i think)

Bunch of things were changed. DPF, turbo, EGR, DOC as well I think and I never saw the truck since

Now 3 lights are on and these people think it was bypassed.

Is this even possible? That somebody (dealership owned by Daimler or the biggest Freightliner in CT) actually did this?

As far as I understand it is illegal.

Any info or any similar experiences would be helpful

    Thank you!

Yes it is possible, and yes it is totally illegal. Chances are it was like that when it was traded in and nobody noticed.

I highly doubt that the dealership made that modification. It is highly illegal and comes with very steep fines. Like the poster stated above, it was probably done before the trade in and was overlooked at the time.

Just wondering about this poster??? only 3 ? the last post about truck malfunctioning, was 5 months ago. last info posted was at shop waiting on estimate. was asked about conclusion? NOT ONE follow up from poster? now this? red flags are going up. are you trying to see who or if you can get info from someone here on modification, deletion, e.t.c. on these type engines? & who is giving advice on this type service? discussion is forbidden here on those topics. so if your working for a government agency to try & see who on here & breaking the law regarding these illegal procedures, or if your wanting some info on HOW to do a deletion, either way, not allowed here. if I am wrong, forgive me.

    Heavyd Thanks this.

Heavyhauler, the reason why I have only 3 posts is because I dispatch and run a company of 10 trucks (teams) almost by myself.
Really no time for me to hang around here. Why I'm I even posting here? Because in the past I found some posts from this forum more than helpful.
I am not asking who does it and how is it done. I am directly pointing at the people who sold me the truck or the dealership who made major repairs on it.

I managed to dig up a receipt for the repairs and will try to hide my companies name and the dealership too so I can post it here. Basically it is showing that the whole system is changed. EGR, DPF,DOC,turbo
So if the dealersip changed everything how in the world they couldn't see the whole system was bypased?
Now I come to a conclusion they did that and that brings a question that I asked at first: how could somebody reputable do something like this?
I only payed like a grand out of my pocket and everything went on warranty, but still,

there are a lot of things that are just better in every way, but illegal at the same time. welcome to the e.p.a. & other government agencies. let's build a engine, that does not stay running, throws all kinds of codes, that NO one can diagnose or fix properly for any length of time, and DO not do anything to change this or you will be breaking the law. I will say one thing the powers that be are correct. these newer type engines do emit less polluntants, BECAUSE they are in the shop most of the time not running.

Thank you! The second one seems very interesting, I'll have to take some time to read it carefully

So what happens now if we get pulled over and have a GOOD level 1 inspection?

Does a annual dot inspection cover inspection of this system? Because it was done in the dealership...

Can anybody be legally responsible for this?

At this point, what is my best solution for this problem?
