Have a lonestar with cummins isx 600 horsepower engine oil pressure was 40 when I left home and engine temperature was around 155 as the truck runs longer during the day oil pressure was down to 20 and temperature was going up to 215 before settling back down to 195 causing warning light to come on and restricting power oil temperature was around 200 it seems the engine temperature gage is moving all over the place feels like the truck only has 400 horsepower as our 475 cats pulled away up the mountain already 3 loads and 3 trips to dealership can't find problem only 380000 miles on engine

Those temps are perfectly normal. Nothing wrong with 20 psi at idle.
-
Thanks heavyd. But the oil pressure was under 20 at 1800 r.p.m. not idling plus loosing power
-
On My last 2010 Prostar with the Cummins, it'd plug the oil filter up with soot and at 20psi it would kill the motor.
Just a filter change and it'd run about 40psi again.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Tucker I did that the next oil pressure drops again truck very sluggish
-
Could the imap.sensor be the problem
-
You have an internal Engine problem, for the oil pressure to go that LOW (if the gauge is correct) you have main bearings failed or oil mixing with fuel. Whatever the reason, DO NOT DRIVE IT until you find the cause. For a start - check the motor oil for fuel smell...
-
20 is not good. in ISX it should be over 30 with hot oil and 1800 rpm. you proubebly need to replace crankshaft bearing shells

If yes!!!
Change your oil Pressure Sensor!
