New to the forum as a member but have looked on this forum for over a year for advice. Now today I start orentation for JB Hunt in Atlantaga. I read some on here but most faded off but i am going to try to update everyday threw orentation and give updates out on the road now i can only give information on what I'll be doing for jb. I'll be doing the eastern regional, out 12 home for 2. I know everyone is in title to their own personal opinion but please keep it clean. I'm not out here to hear from super truckers that all they can do is put everyone down cause I'm at a larger company that has e logs. I'm hoping this can do some good for anyone looking into going to JB Hunt. Thanks for reading. Have a good one and will update soon.

At any rate...looking forward to your posts...and I hope your experience was nothing like mine.Western flyer Thanks this. -
The 1st day of orentation is in the bag. It went just like they said it would. 1st was signing your application. 2nd was drug screen and physical. 3rd was road test and backing.
Ok the only complaint is stupid people. We had 4 people that were let go due to being unable to pass a drug screen. why would you come to a company that tells you upfront that they do a drug test and yet you still do drugs thinking you might slip threw the cracks.
On the good side is the new equipment. The truck we took on a road test was 2015 and only had 207 miles. I know that might not mean much to some people but the company I worked for prior to jb hunt had me in a truck that had over 500k and was pledged with DEF issues. Honestly I had 3 brake downs that lasted over 24 hours in my last 2 weeks and the company only wanted to offer 65 a brake down. But jb hunt in Atlanta had over 50 new freightliner and about the same internationals.
They said tomorrow will be very busy with a lot to take in so I'll keep everyone updated.
Everyone out on the road be safe out there and everyone else hope yall have a good day.

Finished up day 2. Holly cow all I can say is JB Hunt loves power point. So many power point slides. We went over trip planning, pay, 403 and load securement. Oh and pepper log books. A lot of stuff you would know if you worked for a safety based company. It's all the same they just put JB Hunt in front of everything. Lol. If your going OTR orentation is 4 days and if your going JBI or DCS it's only 3. This is due to the drug screen. They have to send off the hair samples out and JBI and DCS needs drivers more than OTR so they send the hair off in 2 stages. More to come tomorrow.

Interesting when I went through orientation almost two years ago it was four days long and we had people going intermodal, dcs, and 1 guy going otr.

Day 3 done, 1 day left. It was another day of power point. We also enrolled in the benefits and payroll. Make sure you bring the ssn of any family members and a blank check. We had 4 guys that have to wait till tomorrow to finish cause they didn't bring it in.
At the end of the day today we did a conference call with our temporary FM (fleet manager) it's about 45 min and they go over everything you have spend 3 days going over. Don't understand cause you have to call them on the final day (tomorrow)
Tomorrow we have to do a Smith System road test and wait for the results from the hair drug test and then wait for our truck assignment. -

We have 11 in our OTR class now and the DCS and JBI class is closer to 20 but the reason I was told that there was split classes was due to the mass total number, and that the JBI driver have to be at the JBI yard (litha springs ga) Tomorrow due to them being short 35+ drivers. I don't know how much truth is in that but it's what I was told so I don't know if it's always like this or if it's just cause the number crunch. The JBI and DCS class got there drug test results today and we won't get our till after lunch tomorrow. -

Ebola guy,
There are a few guys who have said that but what doesn't make sense to me is we are doing it in a jb hunt van! I'm going otr but they said were taking the van out lmao. Whats your thoughts on there equipment? Im in atlanta and all i see are brand new trucks but even tho i was told id get one from my recruiter the safty guy there said they dont give new trucks to new drivers so im trying to figure out how well there older trucks are maintained. -
