I have a T600 that has front spring hangers that have one hole horizontal through the frame and one hole underneath that goes up through the frame flange. I have been told this is a weak design and is prone to cracking the frame flange at the hole. I believe I read somewhere once that some people replaced the hangers with ones off a different model (K100 I think). I would assume that maybe they have two horizontal holes similar to a Pete style so it doesn't put so much stress on the flange? Anyways, haven't though much about it but now am thinking about replacing the front springs and bushings so now would be the time to do this if it works. Does anyone know anything about this mod, or am I just dreaming? It's been a few years since reading something about it.

What model year is your T600?
I do know there were many reports of frame cracking with this flange design, but not sure, at this time, if KW has updated (redesigned) the OEM part.

hi, i have a 1997 w900 kw , its in the shop right now cause of a cracked frame, this is actually the third time it cracked and it was a bad one, about 2 inches left before it snapped in 2 im glad we caught it on time. 1st crack started right in front of passenger side spring hanger and every couple of years its working its way towards the rear. that place its definately a weak spot

I looked at using the hangers from a 89 K100 parts truck I have when the frame on my 96 W900 cracked. I can see how the K100 hangers are a better design but they are shorter than the W900 hangers. The K100 hangers were 4 1/4" from the bottom of the frame to the center of the pin. I don't know about the T600.

My 97 w900l cracked the frame there as well. I welded it up and put a insert in it that runs from the front where the horns bolt on and goes back and catches the rear engine mounts then used the shackles off off a 80 something k100. That was 4 years ago and have had no problems since. I can look and get the part numbers off the shackle hangers when I get home in a day or two if you would like
