My money is with "semi"
We have an '05 9900 that would clunk, bang and sometimes pop out of gear, it was really bad and noticeable when turning corners. We found a broken engine mount bolt, most of the rubber in the motor and transmission mounts was gone and a broken cab mount on the front corner, replaced everything and it fixed the problem for us.
