Sorry about your situation. I've read many threads about guys that didn't like their trainer so they just up and quit. Hang in there. I hope they treat you well and get you a trainer that trains.

    update...lol.

spoke to the training manager, and got a new trainer. we should head out tomorrow. seems like a MUCH nicer guy.... and a trainer... not a leecher.

From what the new trainer told me, the training manager was impressed with me and how I handled this whole situation. the trainer was told I was very professional in how I brought it to the training department.

and it doesnt sound like he was very happy with what I had to say about my previous trainer...... though I did my best to simply say it was just a personality conflict....

hotel for me tonight.... good nights sleep... maybe taco bell.... tomorrow starts a brand new day... :biggrin_2559:

Hahahahahaha, yeah 4 or 5 hours for one or two pallets. Can you say McLane in Bookhaven, Miss.
McLane,Brookhaven, if it is an easy pull I'll usually get it myself for small stuff.
Try Food Lion, pick a location. or better still Safeway in Ontario, Ca, went in there last december, and they had no room in the warehouse and they were not accepting any freight period. Ended up taking that load to a cold storage warehouse elsewhere. NO ONE was happy about that. ( the C/S W/H did take load as a drop, and we had trailers there)

Romans, glad it worked out. Just kinda talk with your trainer before hand and find out what is expected. Try to meet him half-way on little things, which I know you did with the first guy, but trainers do want you to build up your driving time and resistance to stopping alot. They do want to teach you how to make it out there. Keeping that left door closed and staying in the seat have alot to do with a good paycheck. Hope you read my PM back to you. That's a few things you will need to know. Later.....

Yep, the hardest part about training to me was trying to sleep as a team driver..... did NOT wind up getting much sleep at all until we would shut down altogether (maybe once every 3-6 days).

I told my trainer I figured out VERY quickly that I wanted no part of team driving after I upgraded!

Just my opinion, but I think team driving is a really crappy way to train. It's maybe ok after a few weeks, but not "right out the gate".

I'm happy for you that to got some good rest finally, I know how it is.
