Well you wouldn't have an assigned truck. You may have to wait for one when you do decide to go in. Scheduling is pretty flexible as far as being a casual driver. They will also call you if they need an extra driver. Pay is the only thing I would consern yourself with. They may only start you at .30/.31 cents a mile depending on your experience. Hope this helps you in your decision.

I did 3 out 1 home. Wasnt a bad gig. Slip seat though. But I saw it as a new truck every couple of weeks. You dont like your truck? No problem cause youll be in a new one soon. Made pretty good money while I was running. That week your off your not making a thing. You also dont qualify for the insurance. My wife is a teacher and has great insurance so it didnt bother me. I ran out of the Gulfport,Ms terminal. Nice people.

Just noticed Knight advertising these "Part Time" positions, on craigslist. Was interested on how this works. I realize this is a old thread, thought maybe someone now has more information. Looking for whatever information concerning this Port Part time positions, as to how they work, potential hours, etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I have been doing a lot of research with different companies. You should call a recruiter from the terminal you are most likely to work out of to verify this info.
About part-time "Casual" and "Express" part-time positions which offer various schedules*
-Express: 7 days on 7 days off, 14 days on 7 days off, or 21 days on 7 days off
-Casual: working 2-3 days a week
Also I was told on the Express schedules you will share a truck between 2-3 people, so you will have to take your stuff with you each time you go on break. As for the Port Part Time, I don't live in an area where that is available to me. Good luck...Menehune Thanks this. -
