Knight Teams

    Hey all! I am hoping to get some insight from some current or recent Knight teams. I am getting out of the army in a few months and my wife and I are looking at Knight for CDL school and to start our driving careers (well, restart mine, I drove for Werner 20 years ago). We have been stationed in Korea for the last 4.5 years and are looking to get reacquainted with the good ole USA! Info on Knight teams is kinda scarce so I figured I would throw out a few questions and see if you all might have some answers. So, here goes...

    As I understand it, the Squire training consists of 3 weeks getting the CDL followed by 4-6 weeks with a trainer then 90 days solo. Question 1 is can my wife and I team during that last 90 days or do we each have to go out solo?

    What is the pay for teams starting out?

    Finally, what kind of runs are teams getting with Knight. I see that Knight does a lot of short to medium regional runs, but was wondering if we should expect similar types of runs or if Knight has other runs they use there teams for.

    You would both have to go solo for that last 90 days. You'll get the same short to medium runs with the rare long run once or twice a month. My suggestion is you look around, there are better companies for teaming at. One in particular I would suggest is US Xpress. They are very team oriented and make all trainees team after training, in your case they would just stick you and your wife together after training. They have more long distance freight as well.

    After your first year with whoever you go with you should reassess things because there are a lot of great opportunities for teams with experience.

    I saw a post where Covenant takes TWO trainees on a truck with the trainer. Cramped but perhaps they might send yall out like that.
