My point is, why should I settle for 11.9% when I was already approved for 8.75%? Even when you are depending on a financing company, you still have the power to negotiate ! Its not like the business is booming and the slower time of the year is around the corner. I was able to negotiate 12k out of the price...but hey, I am not buying a truck that I know what is worth with 50% recap tires. Again, I appreciate for your point of view and I may end up have to do just that !

If you already have financing approved, that is half the battle. All the big manufacturers have dealers in Dallas and Fort Worth. There are also a lot of used truck dealers around the metroplex. You may want to check with the Landstar agent in Dallas. They used to have their office next to Budweiser, near I-45. I have been in there when someone was trying to sell a trailer. There could be some who are trading up to something newer or just getting out of the business. I was also at their orientation center once and there were several who had trucks they wanted to sell. At the time their orientation center was on 67, south of Dallas. You can always postpone orientation until you find the right truck. I would not kill myself trying to buy a truck. You will wind up spending more than you want.

All are great advice but I am approved with Keystone, and the suckers only work with or for Ryder. Already checked on that this morning, since they are at eastern time.

Just go on truck paper....there are tons to choose from.

And your not desperate to do anything....take a breath. LS will wait and that freight will still be there tomorrow bud........you're missing nothing.
Also, if you're approved with one then you'll get approved with another, get out there and get looking. Work several deals at once and cull the lot down to what you want. By all means take your time driver....hasty decisions can turn out very bad.
Lastly, carrier in house financing is fine...if that's your thing....I know, I did it BUT....I was their slave and lived under threat all the time AND they hassled me bad when I paid them off. It took me 4 hours in delays to pay off my tractor in cash. Point is, I did it for a reason. I needed to protect my credit from inquiries and activity and this was the only way short of cash.
Your gonna get burned driver....slow down.

I don't understand why it takes so long to get credit approved when you have excellent credit. Takes me about 10 mins. or less.
GITRDUN45 Thanks this. -

To the OP....
Desperate people make poor decisions. Assume you'll need two weeks to find the truck you want.
My bank will finance me with 20% down. No questions asked, but they do want to see the truck. -
Hey Chalupa, when I submit my application for financing, I did not know that this company ONLY works with Ryder. I am taking as a bad experience but I am being rational about taking my time for another truck. I actually just saw one at Schneider and as much as I hate that orange color, seems like a very well cared truck and I have heard that they give a good maintenance on their trucks... so lets see what happens.
